What does the position look like?
All NEST team members are integral in our process. We have a highly collaborative and uniquely dynamic process to design/build. The Site Lead will be working closely with the Project Manager, Designer, and Principals to drive the highest-level quality outcomes for our clients. You will have access to a direct line of communication from site to design and be able to utilize this relationship to the benefit of projects and stakeholders.
You must be able to see problems as opportunities; gracefully toggling between high level and detail oriented perspectives. You should be comfortable and willing to provide your experience as input within the process and welcome other perspectives. As a leader in the company, you will be reflecting the values and mission of NEST by bringing your authentic self to the position; faithfully serving our clients, team members, and trade partners.
You will also be in a tool-belt-on position in the field both executing build and managing trade partners. Your experience should come from a combination of 10+ years of managing field crews and developing lead carpenter skills in a residential capacity. Approaching this role with a growth mindset and the ability to mentor and guide other team members and trade partners is essential.
Required Skills & Responsibilities
Full breath of tool-belt-on construction experience.
Advanced knowledge of Residential Construction and a student of Best Practices.
Ability to read construction documents and plans.
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage challenges professionally.
Customer service-centric mindset, with both internal and external teams.
Possess a full grasp of residential general contracting principles.
Professional level writing and communication skills.
Expertly versed in industry and safety standards.
Ability to demonstrate a track record of leading dynamic teams to successful project completion.
Maintain a 3-week rolling production schedule in collaboration with design and site teams
Apply field networking during on site supervision, developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors that are integral to the design/build process
Financial literacy, including a full understanding of Markup and Gross Profit Margin.
Proficient in various computer software platforms as needed.
Reliable transportation and a cell phone with calls, text, email, and photo capability are required.
Bonus Skill
PM experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to create construction documents.
