David Coats was born and raised in the UK; lived in the US, Switzerland, and Germany. He received his MA from Oxford (St. Catherine’s) after which he lived in Australia and Spain before moving to the US. From 1976-84 he was involved with construction and development in Winthrop WA. David is the author of Old McDonald’s Factory Farm: Continuum, NY 1989), and the founder and owner of Bucky Products, Inc, which manufactures buckwheat hull pillows and travel accessories (1991-2006). He then went on to found NEST design build in 2007 with his son, James.
